Never stack seams. Our engine automatically alternates its mathematical sweep direction on every horizontal layer—weaving the X and Z axes back and forth. This forces overlapping cross-bonds that tie the structure together. Without this automated interlocking, curved walls would lack sheer resistance and instantly crumble into weak vertical columns under real-world gravity.

Hollow Shell Optimization

Solid 3D shapes consume an astronomical amount of plastic, driving up both weight and real-world cost. To solve this, the generator targets a strict, optimized 2-stud thickness wall profile. This provides maximum structural stability while leaving a clean internal void—perfect for inserting custom Technic support frames, structural filler, or LED lighting kits.

What specific brick sizes does the sculptor planner generate?

To keep sourcing incredibly simple, the algorithm prioritizes highly standard, easy-to-find 1x1, 1x2, 1x3, and 1x4 bricks. By consolidating smaller adjacent segments into larger cohesive blocks, we minimize your total package count and overall picking time.

How do I handle gravity and sag on larger builds?

When scaling spheres beyond 32 studs in diameter, the overhang on the lower hemisphere is subject to natural sag during assembly. We highly recommend running a vertical Technic support column or horizontal cross-beams through the hollow interior to anchor and lock the upper dome loads securely.

Are there more shapes coming to the builder?

Absolutely. While we launched with spheres and vertical cylinders, we are currently adapting the math to handle half-domes, cones, and complex ellipsoids. The core rendering engine is built to support any mathematical 3D shape array we throw at it, so stay tuned.


Pro-Tip: Sourcing Core Blocks in Bulk

Never buy your interior filler pieces in premium color palettes. Since the internal core blocks aren't visible once your cylinder or sphere is complete, utilize Lego's official Pick a Brick (PAB) service to hunt for cheap bulk lots of unloved colors (like bright pink, lime green, or classic yellow). Using mismatched filler parts internally can slash your real-world bill-of-materials costs by up to 40%.
